Article VI  

 Committees of The Church

 

            Section I

                       

                        Missionary Committee

 

This shall be composed of the chairman of the boards of Deacons and Trustees, Church Clerk, Church Treasurer, Sunday School Superintendent, Youth Director, President of the Maranatha Ladies Fellowship, and the Pastor.  They shall plan the missionary activity of the church and Sunday School and present their recommendation to the church for approval.

 

            Section II

 

                        Music Committee

 

This shall be composed of three members in good standing elected by the church at the annual meeting for one year.  They shall have charge of planning the music for the services of the church.

 

            Section III

 

                        Hospitality and Social Committee

 

(1)    This committee shall be composed of five members which shall be elected by the congregation at the annual election of officers.  They must be members in good standing for at least six months prior to election to office.

(2)    This committee shall elect its own chairman to oversee that the following responsibilities are met:  They shall be responsible for providing hospitality for visiting speakers, providing flowers for those sick or bereaved, and when possible for the church services.  They also will be responsible for the planning of social evens for the church body and be co-ordination of such evens so that they do not conflict or duplicate the plans of our approved auxiliary organizations of the local church.

 

Section IV

 

            Nominating Committee

 

(1)    The nominations for the annual meeting shall be made by Primary election which shall be held two weeks before the regular election.  The highest names on the ballot shall be considered nominees to be voted on at the regular election subject to paragraph 2.  The committee shall seek to secure no less than two names to be placed on the ballot for each office to be filled.

(2)    Deacons and pastor shall act on all nominees as to their character and qualifications according to the church covenant and constitution.

(3)    Primary election ballots shall be obtained from the church clerk upon request by active members of the church.  Ballots are to be mailed to absentees upon request.
